How DVC Rental Club Works
Six simple steps from browsing to checking in at your Disney villa
Browse Listings
Start by browsing available point listings filtered by resort, travel window, and room type. Each listing shows the DVC resort where the member holds ownership (their home resort), the available point balance, the use year, and the general range of dates the member can book.
Submit a Request
Once you find a listing that fits your trip, submit a booking request with your preferred check-in date, check-out date, room type, and the number of adults and children in your party. The member receives your request and either confirms availability or suggests alternative dates. This initial exchange is free and does not obligate you to complete a booking.
Sign the Rental Agreement
When both parties agree on dates and price, you receive a rental agreement to review and sign electronically. The agreement is a legally binding document that names the resort, room type, dates, total rental cost, and the escrow terms. It also specifies the member's obligation to provide a Disney reservation confirmation number and your right to a full refund if they cannot complete the booking.
Payment Goes to Escrow
After both parties sign the agreement, your payment is held in a third-party escrow account. The member does not receive the funds at this stage. This protects you while giving the member the confidence that payment is secured before they invest time booking with Disney.
Member Books the Reservation
With payment in escrow, the member contacts Disney Member Services to make the reservation under your name. Most reservations are confirmed within a few days. The member then provides you with the Disney confirmation number, which you can use to look up your reservation directly on the Disney website.
Check In and Enjoy
Once you verify the confirmation number, escrow is released to the member and the transaction is complete. You check in at the DVC resort exactly as any Disney guest would. Your stay looks and feels identical to a standard Disney resort booking. The only difference is the price you paid.
What If Plans Change?
Cancellation terms are specified in your rental agreement. In most cases, DVC point rentals are non-refundable because the member has committed those points to your booking. However, if Disney cancels or significantly modifies the resort offering, you are entitled to a full refund regardless of the agreement terms. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for any DVC rental booking.
Why Escrow Matters
Your Money is Safe
Funds are held by a neutral third party until the reservation is confirmed by Disney.
Member Confidence
The member knows payment is secured before investing time in the booking process.
Both Sides Protected
If the member cannot complete the booking, you receive a full refund automatically.
