Overview
Disney's Old Key West Resort holds a unique place in Disney history: it was the very first Disney Vacation Club resort, opening in 1991 as "The Vacation Club Resort" before being renamed in 1996. As the grandfather of the DVC system, Old Key West established the template for what a Disney Vacation Club vacation could be — spacious villas, a relaxed atmosphere, and the freedom to vacation on your own terms.
True to its Key West inspiration, Old Key West is a sprawling, low-rise resort spread across 57 lushly landscaped acres. Pastel-colored gingerbread architecture, white picket fences, and meandering waterways evoke the laid-back Conch Republic spirit of the Florida Keys. The resort feels genuinely unhurried — a welcome contrast to the energy of the parks nearby.
Old Key West is also known for having some of the most generously sized villa accommodations in the entire DVC portfolio. Studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms here tend to run larger than equivalent categories at newer resorts, making it a perennial favorite among families who want space. It also offers one of the lowest point costs per night of any Walt Disney World DVC resort, making it excellent value for renters working with a limited point budget.
Villas Available for Rent
Deluxe Studio (Sleeps 4)
At 376 square feet, the Old Key West studio is one of the most spacious in the DVC system. Features a queen bed, a queen sleeper sofa, and a kitchenette. The Key West-themed décor brings warm tropical colors and island artwork to every room.
One-Bedroom Villa (Sleeps 4)
A full master bedroom with a king bed, a whirlpool tub in the master bath, a living area with a queen sleeper sofa, and a complete kitchen with full-size appliances. In-room washer and dryer included. At nearly 942 square feet, this is a genuinely roomy one-bedroom villa.
Two-Bedroom Villa (Sleeps 8)
One of the largest two-bedroom configurations in the DVC system at approximately 1,333 square feet. Master suite with king bed and whirlpool tub, a second bedroom, spacious living and dining areas, and a full kitchen. Available in dedicated and lock-off formats.
Three-Bedroom Grand Villa (Sleeps 12)
Old Key West's Grand Villas span two stories and nearly 2,375 square feet. Three bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a full gourmet kitchen, formal dining area, and private balconies make these one of the most livable Grand Villa options in the DVC system. Many guests find them more home-like than the grander settings of newer resorts.
Point requirements vary by room type and season. Old Key West generally offers some of the lowest point costs at Walt Disney World DVC resorts. Contact DVC Rental Club for current estimates.
